Traditionally DUPB concerts has produced two big shows during the school year: one in the fall, recently dubbed "Boonestock," and one in
the spring, usually in conjunction with DUPB's May Days. While in the
past these concerts have been successful in drawing large crowds,
mainy due to the low cost (free), they fail to take advantage of the
full potential DU and the Denver metro area have to offer.
This coming school year, DUPB concerts aspires to make the most of
these resources and use them to our advantage. Through on-campus co-
programming opportunities with the Lamont school of music (LSMPO) and
the Ritchie center, DUPB concerts hopes to provide access to big
events at little or no cost to DU students. Following suit, the
wealth of concert venues that surround the DU campus is a well that
has yet to be tapped, thus discounts and special rates to both local
and national touring acts are yet another goal that DUPB concerts
hopes to attain.
DUPB concerts has set it's expectations high for the coming year, but
hopefully the progress made will be progress that can be built upon in
the future. So listen closely, great things are on the way.
